First look at The Dark Knight Rises Collectibles
I just have an issue with the heels. That’s all. Everything else looks pretty good, from where I stand. :)Idlehands got its hands on the new DC Direct catalog and we see a close look at Catwoman, Hathaway style:
The heels are sharp stilletos that are supposed to be weapons. Hooookaaaayy.
I’m glad Catwoman is standing proudly defiant. Not. Whatever.
You know, I’m caught between three positions on the figure.
1) It’s terribly unfair that, yet again, the woman’s made to look “sexy” while the men are made to look “strong.” It’s reinforcing a tired stereotype older than the media itself.
2) Catwoman’s feminine wiles have always been a part of her character.There’s nothing inherently wrong with being sexy or seductive, and her comfort with her own sexuality is a vaunted pillar of who she is.
